I was really excited for this session, and am really excited for Tara and Ryan’s wedding. Why? – I work with Tara! Tara is an elementary school teacher for Breck and I work in the computer repair center (I do this alongside photography right now). I only briefly met Ryan once before this session but officially met him today. He seems like a great guy Tara (everyone in the RMC approves!)

This was a ’speed session’ done over my lunch break today. The one time my manager walked into my office was the one time I was setting up my camera for today’s session. I promise I wasn’t playing around too much!

On another note – I have in the works a new blog-site to replace betsywall.com and this blog.  I’m super excited – new logo, new design, and the images in my posts will be nice and big!  So it’s killing me to keep posting on this site – but I want to wait and reveal the final product when it’s finished!

Anyway, onto the pictures! This first one is in the meditation garden at Breck.

Yesterday I met Melissa, Paul, and their 6 month old son Kohl!  This was very exciting for a couple of reasons:  Melissa is Jenna’s sister, so I get to hang out with them more on May 9th.  Secondly is that I heart baby sessions…  they just melt the heart.  Thirdly, is that this session is my photography season kickoff, and I have been dying for it to start all winter!

Kohl’s expressions are so fun to watch – so many pictures were loaded with character.

See what I mean?  His expression totally makes this picture.  

We played in the leaves for a little while….

… until Kohl discovered how delicious they are. :)

Saturday I visited A.J. and Sonja and took some pics of their beautiful daughter Emilia!  I’ve got a few more to post, but I am entirely too impatient not to post some now…..   apparently I was in a black and white mood.

Sure you can get out and photograph mid-winter in Minnesota… but I’m a total wimp in the cold!  I absolutely cannot wait for spring to come so I can get out and take a bazillion pictures.  And edit them.  I plan to get some nifty things to experiment with in photoshop to give my pictures some extra ‘flare’.  I’m also planning on getting a new lens and possibly some more lighting equipment.  And a new iMac… but I am patiently waiting for Steve Jobs to announce a revision to the current model… so go Apple go!

To all of my awesome couples – I absolutely cannot wait to have some fun and take some beautiful pics!  I hope wedding planning is going well, and that you are as excited as I am for the big day!

This is Jeni, who you may recognize, as I photographed her and Joe’s wedding last October!  Jeni is an Interior Designer, an Allied Member of ASID, and will be featured in an upcoming issue of MSPS St. Paul Magazine.  She is one of the many designers who participated in an ASID Showcase Home – where they worked and collaborated for over six months, each on their own space in the home.  The house is in Edina and will be open to public viewing on Saturday, May 16th – you should check it out!

Jeni needed a picture for the magazine, so we went over to IMS for a quick photo shoot!

I had never been to IMS before…  the showcase rooms and products were gorgeous!  

Then off to downtown for some more shots!  It was freezing – Jeni was a trooper!!

It always feels funny going into junky alleys to take pictures, but I love how unique the settings are!

I just wanted to share these photos with you.  I usually post blogs before I go over all of my photographs from my session.  I skim my options, and pick the batch that initially stands out for me.  I later found these photographs from Saturday’s session with Jenna and Scott.  These pictures kind of happened in-between the “real” posing…. where random snow fights started to happen, and I just happened to get a few shots.  I sometimes like these better than the romantic types…. because this is where the personality shows.  I have the same theory with formals – I take them, but often my favorites are the pictures taken in-between the posing and the smiling.

Linsey and Jordan were going to have an engagement session this December, but our schedules just didn’t match up.  They wanted a picture to use on their Christmas cards, so we met for the quickest pre-engagement session ever!  Here’s what we came up with!
